Think Tank La Encantada Vineyard Pinot Noir 2008
"Deep rich, cherry clay Aiken"

Think Tank Pinot Noir 2008 is produced from organically certified, single vineyard grapes from La Encantada Vineyard located in the Santa Rita Hills AVA of Santa Barbara County California. Think Tank Wine Company is unique in their focus on creating high quality wines from select single-vineyard locations that foster environmental stewardship. Think Tank has found that La Encantada Vineyard in Santa Rita Hills AVA is a wonderful place to grow pinot noir. The climate and soil is ideal and the valley’s situation serves to draw the cool air in from the Pacific ocean, which the pinot grapes love. (We know as Winston talks to pinot grapes). There is a depth to this wine: dark, wild cherry, pomegranate and raspberry fruit; cola; deep rich clay; strong but not stern acidity. All-in-all a fine wine today that lacks some of the subtle finesse of higher-end Pinots. Hopefully this will come with some age. 88 points.

Thanks for the great review guys. Glad you enjoyed the wine.
Just one point of clarity…
La Encantada Vineyard is owned by Richard Sanford and is a certified organic vineyard by CCOF standards.

Michael,
Thanks for the clarification – sorry it was clear on the bottle (or we just missed it). I’ll update excerpt and the tags associated with this review.
Cheers,
