What would you pair this with?
Hi Robin:
From Winston: “This wine is layered with dark fruits, earthiness, and comlexity. Having all these flavor components in one bottle suggests, that the wine can be served with a broad range of foods. Tapas immediately comes to mind. I especially like tapas that tend to be pork dominated. Also, the Herdade dos Grous has enough acidity to lift the flavors of many tomato based foods. My mouth begins to water when I think of an eggplant infused dish, such as an eggplant casserole or eggplant parmesan. This wine’s truest expression is found with the more rustic dishes, such as oxtail stew. In actuality the Herdade dos Grous resembles a stew, with flavors of plum, cherry, blackberry, pepper, earthiness and minerality. Lastly, the wine has an herbal characteristic that would compliment most any Mediterranean inspired lamb dish.”
