Bradford Mountain Grist Vineyard Syrah 2005
"Was Marion Berry really a crack head?"

It is unusual to see syrah from Dry Creek Valley in Sonoma County, but Bradford Mountain makes us wish we saw more. The grapes are organically certified from Grist Vineyard located 1,200 feet above the valley. The nose exudes dark fruit: blackberry, boysenberry and Winston’s favorite former mayor marionberry. It also gives us chocolate and a mossy note (or dry peat). It is aging well and is a stellar example of Syrah showing new world California sensitivities and boldness without losing the old world Rhône minerality. 91 points.
