Albet i Noya Dolç les Timbes Viognier 2008
"Peaches & Herb | Reunited"

Albet i Noya Dolç les Timbes Viognier 2008 is a surprising dessert wine – it makes us wonder why we don’t see more sweet Viogniers. Albet i Noya is an organic winemaking pioneer from the Penedès region of Spain. The grapes are certified organic by CCPAE (Consell Català de la Producció Agrària Ecològica). Not a huge fan of the sweet wines, Winston was convinced to buy a bottle from the winemaker himself on a recent trip to Spain. The wine is a bright with a very pale yellow color. Aromas of white peaches, sweet cream and feint lilac (which is a floral note often associated with viognier). It’s nose is light and delicate. Winston and Jen think of the group “Peaches and Cream” and break into song “Reunited” ’till they realize the group was called “Peaches and Herb” and there are no herb notes in this wine. However, peaches and cream on a warm day with this wine would be worthy of song. 89 points.
